Fantastic Commerical to be Aired by Democrats for Principle Before Party

Check out the commercial Heidi and Mark have been busy creating for airing on local TV stations - It hits Obama squarely in his weak spot.
Would You Buy a Used Car From this Man?
And, remember to donate $5.00 or $10.00 bucks to get this on the air in battle ground states! No amount is too small. This is a crucial time in the election process, so don't be shy - Donate!

The Democratic Party must be brought back to the people who created it - not the elites who are breaking it.

Camp Obama children sing for der fuhrer. Shudder.

Sing for Change chronicles a recent Sunday afternoon, when 22 children, ages 5-12, gathered to sing original songs in the belief that their singing would lift up our communities for the coming election. Light, hope, courage and love shine through these nonvoting children who believe that their very best contribution to the Obama campaign is to sing.

Non-voting children? Really? Call ACORN - I'm sure someone from the O campaign will rush right over to sign them up.

Obama & Friends Caused US Ecomonic Crisis

A FEMINIST VOTING REPUBLICAN

Dr. Lynette Long
I am voting for McCain-Palin and I am a feminist. Many feminists can’t understand my choice. I am not betraying the cause, the fight, the mission, because I don’t want to vote Democratic. The Democratic Party is not our ally. The Democratic Party is 60% women but it has only once selected a woman as a vice-presidential candidate and that was nearly a quarter of a century ago. We are chattel in our own party. The head of the Democratic National Committee has never been a woman. Money donated to the Women’s Leadership Fund is funneled into the Obama Victory Fund. We cannot give dominion over our bodies or ourselves to one party. Current feminist groups have no teeth because they are part and parcel of the Democratic Party. They are held hostage by Roe v. Wade. They know it and the Democratic Party knows it. The only way to regain our power is to regain our vote. The Democratic Party has no reason to earn our vote. We’ve sacrificed one choice for another.

I will by not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that turned a blind eye to the corruption in the Democratic primaries and Democratic caucuses.

I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party that ignored a woman who got 18 million votes.

I will not be held hostage by the Democratic Party a party that was deaf, dumb and blind to the persistent and pervasive sexist attacks against Hillary Clinton.

I will not be held hostage by a Democratic Party that has never had a female head of the DNC.

I will not be threatened into submission. I will not cast my vote based on fear.

The Democratic Party cannot be rewarded for its pervasive disrespect of women. Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Sometimes you have to tear down a house before you can rebuild it. Most feminists think the Democratic Party will treat them differently during the next election. There is no next time. There is only this time. Reinforcing abuse only perpetuates abuse. In any abusive relationship, you have to leave to get respect. Abusers are often charming and apologetic and hold out the hope of better behavior. But there is no then, there is only now.

I am a woman and I am a feminist. To the other feminists out there I ask, “Where is your pride or are you a victim of your own misogyny?”

I am a woman and right now I am ashamed to say, I am a feminist.

Todays What the Fuck Moment

It is a classic case of Good v. Evil. Obama won the debate (with the help of Jesus Christ) because Father God made it so. My money is riding on Batman.

Day 39:
Father God we come again, as we will for the next 39 days, to thank You for giving Barack Obama an excellent spirit and for having favor upon his life in every situation and circumstance. (Daniel 6:3) We thank You for Barack's excellent performance in the debates and for keeping him, Joe Biden, their staffs and their families safe. As Joe Biden participates in the upcoming Vice Presidential debate, we pray for his solid preparation, respectful spirit, clear mind, wisdom, understanding of the issues, clarity of speech, strong articulation, insightful discernment and solid message concerning the needs of the people, the nation and campaign. God we pray for Barack as his opponent contempt for him was revealed in the debate. You have all the power and glory in this situation and we thank You for delivering Barack from those who come against him. (Daniel 6:16) In Jesus' name, Amen!

Day 40:
Our Lord God we come again to thank You for giving Barack Obama an excellent spirit and for having favor upon his life in every situation and circumstance. (Daniel 6:3) We thank You, God, for being with Barack in the debate last night and through the "crisis call" to Washington over the past week. Dear God through You the world was able to see that Barack Obama is "born of You. He has the strength to overcome the evil one in all manners of sin and temptation. For greater is He (Jesus Christ) who strengthens Barack and dwells within him, than the enemy that is in the world." Thank You God for truth, transparency and for giving Barack solid preparation, a clear mind, wisdom, understanding of the issues, clarity of speech, strong articulation, insightful discernment and a solid message concerning the needs of the people and the nation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I kid you not.

Big Labor Promises $300 Million in Federal Election Spending to Democrats

Obama has vowed to clean up Washington and kick the lobbyist's out. This is how he will do it

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF), a non-partisan organization dedicated to combating anti-worker legislation and promoting free and open labor markets, today remarked on the political trends of Big Labor.

The Alliance for Worker Freedom recently published several union political contribution statistics. Here are just a few:

• Labor unions contributed a total of $52 million in the 2008 political cycle
• 91 percent of that went toward Democrats
• 9 percent toward Republicans
• The largest 527 contribution in 2008 cycle was from the SEIU at $18 million

AWF Executive Director Brian M. Johnson says, “It should be no surprise that when some Democrats take office, the first things they try to deliver are political kick-backs that take the rights away from average workers and give them to union bosses.”

Johnson is referring to the “Employee Free Choice Act”, a piece of legislation his organization has vehemently opposed. Currently, voting on union membership is done with a private ballot, like voting for the president. If “EFCA” is passed as presidential candidate Sen. Obama has promised, union membership will be voted on using a public ballot.

“EFCA is the most anti-worker freedom piece of legislation I have seen. To take away a private ballot will open the doors for threats, intimidation and coercion that will rival 1950s gangster movies,” adds Johnson. “Rank-and-file union members should be very afraid.”

Obama Sends Advance Team to Meet with Ahmadinejad

From Count Us Out via Pagan Power

Jodie Evans, fundraiser and personal friend of Barack Obama, met yesterday with the president of Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. The purpose of the meeting, according to Evans, was to promote peace. Right.

Obama Campaign Supporters Meet With Iranian President

Jodie Evans, who co-hosted Obama’s first major fundraiser in Hollywood in February 2007 just after Obama announced his candidacy and is a top fundraiser and donor to Obama’s campaign, led a delegation of leftist anti-American groups that held a private meeting near the United Nations. The stated purpose of the meeting was to “serve as an opening for diplomatic resolution” to prevent war between Iran and the United States.

Given Evans’ close relationship with the Obama campaign it seems likely this meeting was at the behest and approval of the Obama campaign.

Evans has a long history of opposing positions that most Americans hold sacred. For instance, she believes that Osama bin Laden was justified in attacking our country. Just the sort of person you might expect would fit comfortably in the Obama inner circle. After all, Obama is also close personal friends with terrorist Bill Ayers too.

A Primer on the Financial Debacle

or, how the hell did we get here?
Look, this whole thing is simple and easy to understand. Bankers are greedy bastards so they need regulating. As a result of the 1929 stock market crash, resulting in a deep depression by 1932, the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 was passed to protect homeowners. It was a measure that prohibited the mixing of banking, insurance, and investments.

Banking deregulation started in earnest during the Carter admin in 1978. Over a period of 20 years, Glass-Steagall was pecked at and undermined and weakened. It was finally killed altogether in 1999 with the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999. Every Democrat but 5 voted for it in the Senate and all but 1 Republican voted nay. John McCain was the single Senator who did not vote.

The Supreme Court: not the most important protector of civil rights, including reproductive rights

From that brilliant attorney, Heidi Li Feldmen, an excellent anaylsis of those arguments from Obama supporters about taking away your civil rights and overturning Roe v. Wade if you don't vote Democratic. Read it all Here

Now, let us turn to the issue of some civil rights key to women's liberty: reproductive rights, including the right to be free from state interference with access to birth control and abortion. Congress has the power to pass statutes along the lines of section 1983 to give much stronger protection to reproductive rights than current Supreme Court jurisprudence does. A Congress serious about individual liberty for both men and women (regardless of their color) would do just that. Meanwhile in the years since Roe v. Wade was decided, the Supreme Court has decided case after case cramping its scope and impact. (Two examples: the Supreme Court has upheld state created waiting period requirements and state laws requiring double parental notification).

Other things equal, I would prefer Roe v. Wade not be overturned. But the reality of abortion and access to birth control in this country is that in most places neither are readily available, particularly to young people. Of course, one may think this a good thing if one has views different than mine about the centrality of reproductive rights to human rights. But if you believe that control over one's procreational activities is about as fundamental a human right as there is, then you need to realize that to the extent the federal government can protect the individual it would be by enacting comprehensive legislation to do just that. Even more effective would be for each state to also enact its own legislation to do it.

At the level of Presidential politics Roe v. Wade has become something of a rhetorical football thrown back and forth a way of inciting passions among pro-choice and anti-abortion factions in the major political parties. But Roe v. Wade really does not have that much to do with making sure that this country treats women's rights as human rights and reproductive rights as human rights. For that dream to be fulfilled we need the federal legislature and state governments to act to secure these rights.

Important things to know about the candidates

From Ron4Hill at Hillary Clinton Forum

Obama often says that McCain voted 90% of the time with Bush. What he doesn't say is that Obama himself voted 88% of the time with Bush and even voted for the Cheney energy plan. Hillary didn't and neither did McCain.

What they don't tell you is that McCain voted 97% of the time with the Democrats and that he has the worst conservative voting record of any Republican. He voted liberal 20% of the time.

(A little tip when you hear Obama lying about McCain's voting record: most votes in the Senate are unanimous consent.)

Did you know that some top Democrats are flocking to McCain? Yep, people who have been Democrats voting for only Democrats all their lives are switching to McCain. Hillary's top fundraiser and member of the DNC platform committee, Lady Lynne de Rothschild, has endorsed McCain. Hillary's Senior Political Advisor, Miguel Lausell, and Clinton Delegate-at-Large Luchy Secaira both endorsed McCain on Friday. Millions of Hillary's most active supporters have endorsed McCain.

There's a dramatic split in the Democratic party because of the way the DNC treated Hillary and because millions of Democrats know they can't trust Obama.

Wow! I coulda had a

From Lady Boomer

Lea Lane's article: Do whatever you must to trick Hillary supporters into voting for Barack.

From LSekhmet at Alegre's Corner, A MUST READ

This article by Lea Lane is truly awful; it's called, "Do Whatever You Must to Trick Hillary Supporters Into Voting for Barack" -- and it's disgusting. (The secondary title, btw, is: "Eat Crow? Hell Yes, to Win This Election."

Here's the first two paragraphs:

The Obama team is suddenly making a huge effort to gain women's votes, but many die-hard Hillary supporters - dozens of my acquaintances - remain bruised and confused. The fact that Palin is on the ticket when HRC wasn't even vetted may turn out to have been the major gaffe of Axelrod and Company, and the tipping point of this tight election.

If you've been an outspoken Obama supporter from the beginning, it's time to make amends with Hillary supporters you know. Arguing with, or browbeating them to get on board is counterproductive, but showing you've come around to respecting Hillary may ease their hurt enough to do the trick. (Even if you don't mean it. This is politics.)

Obama - Agent of Change

Jennifer Rubin
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac survived scrutiny by manipulating, cajoling, and lobbying politicians and hiring board members who were politicos (e.g. Jamie Gorelick) rather than mortgage gurus. They hired lobbyists, gave massive donations, obtained nice tax breaks, and sailed below the regulatory radar screen.

Of the 354 lawmakers who received money from Freddie and Fannie between 1989 and 2008, Sen. Chris Dodd received the most. But next was . . . drumroll . . . . Barak Obama Yup. And he was only there for three years. Not too much went to John McCain, about a sixth of what Obama received (h/t Glenn Reynolds.)

But, you say, maybe all the Fannie and Freddie employees who gave money just “liked” Obama. That might make sense with ordinary institutions. But these two had a game plan to influence and sway lawmakers for the purpose of keeping them on the government gravy train and out of the regulatory line of fire. It’s no coincidence that they “liked” Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd best of all.

So it would appear that this is precisely what Obama has been railing against: Washington insiders lining the pockets of other Washington insiders while the taxpayers ultimately have to foot the bill. The Agent of Change, it seems, didn’t exactly walk the walk on this one.

Now, he's using women to shore up his dwindling campaign. Not exactly a sterling example.

Hillary's Stolen Delegates or How the DNC Stole Your Vote

Convention Vote Tally Analysis from DemConWatchConvention Vote Tally Analysis

We've gone through the numbers, and there's lots of interesting data to be looked at.

First, top line. Going into the convention, we estimated Obama at 2335 votes, (1842.5 pledged, 492.5 superdelegates), and Clinton at 1973 votes, (1720.5 pledged, 252.5 superdelegates), Edwards at 3, and 108 superdelegates uncommitted.

The results reported by the DNCC: Obama 3188.5 (+894.5), Clinton 1010.5 (-988.5), Not Voting 220 (+94 from superdelegate uncommitted). What this shows us is that at least 94 Clinton delegates abstained from voting, instead of voting for either Clinton or Obama. But it's actually more. Let's look at some key states:

CA: Was Clinton 233, Obama 200, Uncommitted 8. Convention Tally: Clinton 145 (-88) Obama 255 (+55), NV 41. At least 33 (88-55) Clinton delegates decided to abstain.

PA: Was Clinton 101, Obama 81, Uncommitted 5. Convention Tally: Clinton 20 (-81) Obama 137 (+56), NV 30. At least 25 Clinton delegates decided to abstain.

NJ: Was Clinton 71, Obama 55, Uncommitted 1. Convention Tally: Clinton 0 (-71) Obama 106 (+51), NV 21. At least 20 Clinton delegates decided to abstain.

An analysis of similar states show a total of 127 Clinton delegates (pledged and super) not voting for either candidate at the convention.

The three states above, CA, PA and NJ all had a high number of delegates not voting.

But there were only 3 other states that had 10% or more of their delegates not voting:

LA: 14 out of 67 not voting (21%), AL: 6 out of 60 not voting, MS: 4 out of 41 not voting.
Looks like early Gustav preparations for the Gulf Coast states. Fair enough.

So where did Clinton lose the most votes? Obviously in her biggest states:
NY: She lost 109 votes. CA: 88 votes. PA: 81 votes. NJ: 71 votes. OH: 59 votes. FL: 52 votes. MI: 49 votes.

In what big states did she lose a high % of her delegates?
NJ: She lost 100% of 71 delegates
PA: She lost 80% of 101 delegates
NY: She lost 59% of 185 delegates.
She also lost 100% of her delegates in AS, DE, NH, NJ, VI and VT.

Finally, there are two states that bucked these trends:

First, Iowa. Our estimate was Clinton 7, Obama 52, Uncommitted 4. Final Tally: Clinton 9, Obama 48. This is the only state where Clinton increased her numbers. Our guess is that the Green Papers estimates of Clinton's pledged delegate numbers did not reflect the fact that Clinton kept her state level delegates.

And finally, we should recognize Puerto Rico, which was the only delegation where Clinton received a majority of the delegates, 36-23.

Notes: All original Pledged Delegate numbers are from The Green Papers. All superdelegate numbers are from the DemConWatch Superdelegate Endorsement List, which was frozen on June 6th.
